Calabrese Peperoncino

The Calabrian Peperoncino is a fiery hot chilli pepper  originated in Calabria, South Italy and has a spicy taste with a strong aroma. It is often used to flavour dishes such as parmigiana, pasta, pizza, eggplant, salads and sandwiches.  The use of calabrese peperoncino in salamis have contributed to Calabrian Salamis  being regarded as one of the finest delicacies in the world.

The Peperoncino’s characteristics of being aromatic, hot and therapeutic have also justifiably contributed to their popularity and  high demand.

They are so frequently used in so many ways in Italy that many families grow them on their balconies to have them handy for use at any time.  In fact, it said that the Calabrese enjoy them so much they would put  them in their coffee.  And I have little doubt that they already have.. .

Not the hottest but truly  one of the  best hot peppers there is available .
